Epoxy Resin was developed in the 1930s and from the 1950s on began to be widely used in the aircraft and shipbuilding industry. Nowadays, this material is used for high-grade race-boats, gliders and wind power sails. The mechanical features of epoxy resin cannot be offered by any other material. It is resistant against osmosis and therefore is being used for restoring the blister damages of sport boats. It is highly resistant against acids and bases. Despite the higher price, Aqua House does not make any compromises regarding the quality of its products.

Today's customer wants productivity from the total processing lines. With Aqua House sophisticated pre production process, customers can plan with us their composite factory in highly effective way, explains CEO Dietmar Biessler. Aqua House product range and service network are the widest on the full sandwich composite construction market. We are able to deliver everything from individual machines, construction skill to full scale factory installation. OSP also means that we are able to act as value chain integrator, he continues. One important step in strengthening the One-Stop Partner offering was taking with the acquisition of Germany engineering company EWP Gruppe GmbH in summer 2004. The goal of our customers, the composite sandwich construction processing industry, is to get highest possible productivity. Therefore tailored software and production management systems are needed to optimize composite processes and make sure that the installed machines produce maximum quantity at acceptable quality at the lowest cost. Right from the start, it was the company's aim to manufacture just the best quality and thus deliver a product that meets the highest standards.
Epoxy resin proved to be one of the most water resistant materials. Furthermore, it has outstanding mechanical features. Together with a honey-comb core, which permits all existing extensions, the plate for the production of pontoons and boat hulls developed by Aqua House is unrevalled. Also the kind of glueing is unsurpassed. Instead of working with resin and glass fibre binder inside and outside, Aqua House glues the plates together internally at all necessary points. This results in smooth outer surfaces, which need no additional grinding or levelling. The inner cavities at the adhesive junctions are filled with thick resin which results in a massive shock-proof and unbreakable compound.
Another advantage of this double-walled building method is, that the rooms inside of the pontoon are spared from condensation water. Hence the complete pontoon may be used to stow things away.
In direct comparison to steel pontoons, which rust and produce condensation water, the honeycomb sandwich plate with its millions of unconnected cavities cannot sink, which is clearly a benefit. The pressure- and tensile loads of the honey-comb sandwich plate are higher than those made of steel. Because of the low weight, ballast may be put into the lowest place in order to keep down the centre of gravity and to obtain the optimum sea worthiness.
In comparison to concrete pontoons which are extremely heavy and therefore sink in deeply and often show a limited free board, epoxy resin pontoons are light and because of their slight draught usable in situations unreachable by other systems. Furthermore, concrete pontoons almost never offer storage room. Concrete tends to assimilate water because of its porous surface which freezes in winter and causes the concrete to burst.
The walls of a house have to come up to completely different demands, which is why Aqua House developed the revolutionary RexWall resin plates. This completely new material is made of a foam core with double-sided glass fiber coating impregnated in RexWall resin. Thus the produced plate is light, high-strength and selfsupporting. The heat-insulation values are outstanding and better than the German low-energy standard. The most important advantage is the non-flammability of the RexWall resin plates.
These walls and the roof are glued together, resulting in a closed homogeneous kasko that will not separate or loose its water tightness even after decades of constant movement. Important details such as installation of windows and doors are solved in a new way. A clamp profile developed especially for Aqua House makes sure that a double gasket to the house exists and materials may extend without showing lacks.
Together with the heat pump, also especially developed for Aqua House, for heating / cooling off and the completely biological purification plant, Aqua houses offer more quality and comfort than houses ashore.
But the most important advantage of Aqua House is the fact, that they listen to the customer. The company developed houses, that mainly because of their high quality construction method, can be described as very reasonably priced. The designs of the objects are made inside the company and developed in close co-operation with the customer.
